DVDO, Monster, Lumagen, and Denon Support Live Auction
October 21, 2005 - Hollywood, CA
Home Theater Cruise annual charity event set to sail
On October 29th, the Carnival Cruise line's mega-ship, Glory, will depart from Cape Canaveral, Florida with over 350 members of the 4th annual Home Theater Cruise - a weeklong trip throughout the eastern Caribbean that combines a wonderful vacation along with a technology conference at sea. And for the 4th year, the Elf Foundation has been invited to hold a charity auction to benefit the foundation's mission of creating Room of Magic theaters for sick kids.
DVDO, Monster M-Design, Lumagen, Denon and a host of others are generously providing some exciting new products that will be auctioned off live, Friday November 4th, while the cruise liner is somewhere at sea. The live auction is open exclusively to Home Theater Cruise participants. Last year, the auction raised an impressive $51,300.
"We're really excited to invite Elf Foundation back on board for another live auction event," said David Bott, founder of the Home Theater Cruise. "The Elf Foundation's mission is a perfect fit for our home theater enthusiasts and we're proud to have assisted in raising over $100,000 for Elf these past 3 years."
Long-time Elf Foundation corporate sponsors, Yamaha Electronics, Runco International, and Stewart Filmscreen will also be donating to the live auction, as will as Anchor's Away, who again is putting up a cruise package for next year's Home Theater Cruise.
About The Elf Foundation
The Elf Foundation was founded in July of 2001, with the express mission of creating private entertainment theaters ñ 'Rooms of Magic' - for childrenís hospitals, autism centers, shelters for abused kids, and terminally-ill hospices for children across the country. Operating as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charity, the foundation acts as a catalyst within the consumer electronics industry and in local communities to advance their mission of bringing the magic of music and film to special kids in a time of need. To date, The Elf Foundation has opened over 50 'Room of Magic' theaters in the U.S. and Canada. For more information visit www.elfSystems.org.
