Elf Foundation Raises $38,000 During 2006 Home Theater Cruise Live Auction

Somewhere at Sea ~~ "Sailing to Home Theater Perfection" is the tag-line for the Home Theater Cruise, brainchild of David Bott and Gary Reber, and this week-long adventure on the high seas combines home theater enthusiasts seminars, corporate sponsored cocktail parties, and fun-filled days at various exotic destinations, bringing together enthusiasts, manufacturers, and industry notables to discuss current events and trends within the industry. The 2006 HTC departed out of Long Beach, California on May 7th and headed for the Mexican Rivera, where big fun was had by all. In addition to the ports of call and informative home theater seminars, David and Gary arranged for a surprise performance by renowned jazz singer, Nicole Henry.
And to wrap up a sun-filled week, Home Theater Cruise and Yamaha Electronics presented the annual Elf Foundation Live Auction to support the foundation's Rooms of Magic theater program. On Saturday night, May 13, with the support of Elf's corporate sponsors and some incredibly generous enthusiasts, the evening was a huge success as the Live Auction raised over $38,000.
Featured products included a Crystal Portfolioô LCD Television from Runco International, a new RX-V659 receiver and YSP-1000 speaker system from Yamaha Electronics, a Deluxe Screenwall from Stewart Filmscreen, Denon's brand new DVD-2930CI Universal DVD player, an iScan VP30 with Extension Package from DVDO, and an iPort Free Standing Universal Cradle from Sonance.
Additionally, Datacolor offered both their ColorFacts Professional 6.0 package, as well as their SpyderTV calibration solution. Monster weighed in with an HTS 3500, AudioQuest offered HDMI and Component Video cable solutions, and B & W generously provided an M-1 speaker system.
And finally, Anchor's Away once again offered a cruise package for next year's HTC, the artist Dean J. Baer donated a limited edition lithograph of his Freedom of Expression artwork, and Microsoft was inspired to donate an X Box 360 personally signed by Bill Gates.
